Family Blend 2020 (1 litre)

As the name suggests, the Family Blend comprises of our family’s secret signature extra virgin olive oil blend which has become famous over the years for its fruity and fresh taste. While reimagined each year to reflect the best characteristics of a particular year’s harvest, those familiar with our oil will still be able to identify the unique taste that has made this blend so popular. Apply liberally to salads, use in basting sauces for steaks, stir into fresh pasta with garlic and chilli, or if you are like us, take a sip or two straight from the tap! This oil has a very fruity fragrance with notes of fresh green apple, lime, and guava. This fruitiness is balanced with bitterness and pungency to form the perfect representation of an extra virgin olive oil. We are proud to share this oil so that all can enjoy its great taste and experience the extraordinary health benefits it offers.

Chilli Flavoured (250 ml)

Sometimes all you need in a dish is that one extra flavour… With this oil we put fresh chillies through the extraction process together with our olives to create a fragrant and exciting fresh chilli flavoured oil, with just a slight bite. Our chilli flavoured oil works wonders on pizza, on fries, or pretty much anything that can do with a slight chilli kick. The oil is not at all overwhelmingly burny, but instead just has a mild spiciness to it. Only 300 bottles were produced, and many of them are already on order, so don’t miss out!

Lemon Flavoured (250 ml)

Pure Blend (500 ml)

Produced from pure Mission olives, this delicate extra virgin olive oil embodies the fresh, green taste that Lapithos has become renowned for. With wonderful subtle notes of freshly cut grass, rich walnuts and red apple, its special fruity taste is achieved by growing our olives in the unique terroir of the Scherpenheuwel Valley, cold extracting the oil, and bottling it with minimal filtering. By doing so we give you the most natural olive oil possible. This oil works wonders on Greek salads and fresh vegetables, where it adds a freshness and grassiness, without adding as much bitterness as more intense oils would. Similarly, the oil brings a natural depth to lean or creamy pastas, and goes well with ingredients like butter, garlic, chilli, and mushroom.

ABOUT OUR FARM

Lapithos Olive Growers lies in the beautiful Breede River Valley in the Scherpenheuwel District near Worcester, South Africa. It is co-owned by lifelong friends Alexis Kearney and Mark Kapnoudhis and was named after a little village in Northern Cyprus, which was the birthplace of Andreas Kapnoudhis, Mark’s father.  Mark and Alexis bought the land in 1998, at which time it was an Ostrich farm with no drinkable water supply or electricity, and barely any access by road. The family has since grown the farm to have all the necessary infrastructure to support the production of premium extra virgin olive oil, while maintaining the special feeling of remoteness up in the mountains.

Today the farm comprises of 10 000 olive trees which were painstakingly planted over the years by visiting friends and family in exchange for good food, exceptional wine and a memorable time. Producing its first Extra Virgin Olive Oil in 2016, Lapithos has since become renowned for its unpretentious, personally blended, boutique olive oils which are award-winning. With limited quantities made available to the public each year, every litre of olive oil is pressed with the utmost care and precision to ensure that its taste reflects the love put into it. Lapithos is fuelled by family and inspired to share.
